So I can officially quit bitching about the crazy changes planned for the WRC in 2015 by the WRC Promoter. The WRC Commission has now rejected any shootout gimmick mooted for the power stage and at least as far as next season is concerned, Capito's brainchild is stillborn.
And woohoo for that small mercy. It seems that Jean Todt had resisted the move all along and despite the prior unanimous backing from the WRC Commission (basically the teams who compete in the championship), it's over.
One thing I know for sure is that it would have changed the character of our sport for the worse but now we can relax and enjoy the competition the way it has always been.
I'm a happy rally fan again.
